Using One’s Knowledge, Talents and Skills for God’s Glory

As years went by, church members who graduated from various professions increased in number and wanted to be used by God in the furtherance of His kingdom. The church opened opportunities for them to use their knowledge, talents and skills. In 2000, the Super Kids  Learning Center (SKLC) was established.

Initially, it offered preschool education only and had two teachers – Sis. Claire Biaddang and Sis. Dolly Bayawa-Pangos but eventually it catered to Preschool up to Grade VI students in 2006 and church members who are teachers were able to teach in the school. There were seven (7) students who belong to the first graduates of Grade VI.

There are several church members who have talents and skills in journalism that in 2000 a church newspaper named “The Highland Messenger” was formulated. This official publication of the LTAG was conceptualized by the youth group headed by Sis. Cherlyn Pinas. Bro. Allan Tabdi was the first editor in chief followed by Sis. Clarice Bangao. At present it is being headed by Sis. Kareen Bangao-Leon and Kathlyn Bangao . Since its realization, there were 16 issues released.

The church is blessed as well with medical and dental doctors  (Dr. Antonette Agpas, Dr. Esther Elio, Sis. Mylene Bacasen and Sis. Such form of outreach missions are being facilitated by the CARE group. In 2007, a “Music Training Center” was established. Young people were trained to play various musical instruments and some were taught on the basics of effective singing. Twelve (12) students were trained however this did not progress with the resignation of the music director – Ptr. Julius Palpeg.

With the increasing church activities, missions work was never allowed to be left behind so that in 2003, pioneering work was done in Pual, Atok.

The church entered the arena of International Missions when God called two members for Foreign Missionary works in the persons of Sis. Melita Estera and Sis.  Divina Pakilo.
